How it works

The Afrobits installation uses a series of sensors connected to a microcontroller which then triggers a specific soundtrack. The installation is mounted as a standalone wooden cone, which contains all the sensors, and sound output (speakers). Visitors just have to wave their hand over the sensitive areas clearly delimited by the wooden iconography of the geographies.

Visitors will be able to play the nine different geographies and listen to the sounds that correlate to them. The soundtracks are up to 35 seconds long, encouraging visitors to explore the different music genres. The sensors are clearly depicted by wooden cutouts of the iconography.
